It all started when…

My yoga practice is informed by the Krishnamacharya tradition and the lineage of Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya and his son, T.K.V. Desikachar.

One of the great yoga masters of the 20th century, Krishnamacharya was a true innovator who believed that yoga could be both a spiritual practice and a mode of physical healing. One of his defining innovations was the emphasis on yoga as a “holistic” practice – combining breath (pranayama) with the yogic physical postures (asanas), so as to engage body, breath and mind as one.

Above all, what distinguishes Krishnamacharya’s approach is its absolute focus on the needs of the individual and adapting instruction to best serve them. In the spirit of this lineage, my yoga practice focuses on addressing the individual needs of every participant, so that together we can maximize the benefits and reduce the risks of their yoga practice while engaging them at all levels – in mind, body, emotionally and spiritually.
